rough idle and stumble at acceleration
2003 GTI 1.8t (awp engine). Car ran great until I put new spark plugs in it. Afterwards, it developed a rough idle, surges at idle, and stumbles a little when I press the gas pedal. I checked the coil packs for any visible damage and there was none. Everything was reinstalled exactly where it was. I tried reinstalling the old plugs but the new problem didn't go away. Am I missing something? I even replaced the MAF sensor and that did nothing.

Re: rough idle and stumble at acceleration
used split fires. but put the old ones back in and still had the problem. not sure of the mileage (it's a friends car). too many upgrades the check engine light is always on. not cat things like that. thanks for the help but dealership says its recall parts (coil packs). going to let them fix it.
