2003 Camry XLE
I just bought a 2003 Camry XLE, it has 217,000 miles on it, but had one owner who maintained it very well. However, I have noticed that while driving I hear a constant low grinding sound. It doesn't seem to affect operation, and no dash lights have come on. But I can feel a slight vibration in both the steering wheel and gas pedal, so my guess is something to do with the tires. Need more info? Or can someone offer up a guess? Thanks!

If it were my car, I would bring it into a repair shop and have them examine your brakes, wheel bearings, and the suspension in general. It's possible that it is your wheel bearings.

Re: 2003 Camry XLE
Thanks, Brian. After reading some more info and seeing your answer, I also think it might be the bearings. I think I'll make an appointment with my car guy to look it over, since winter is coming up fast and I don't want any trouble on the road. Thanks!

Re: 2003 Camry XLE
I have almost the same 2003 Toyota Camry XLE with 216,000 miles on it and recently start noticing vibration in the steering wheel when driving around 60 mph. I know you posted that long ago but just wondering what was outcome. Do you still use that car?

Re: 2003 Camry XLE
Vibration at highway speeds is most commonly caused by improper wheel balancing. When was the last time you had your wheels checked/rebalanced?
