Car dealerships are all going to go to hell

Do not, I repeat DO NOT do business with NW Mitsubishi in EVERETT, WA.

A couple of months ago, NWM agreed to sell the EVO VII, when it comes out, for MSRP, with me first on the list. Then a week or two ago, following up, they told me they could no longer honor that, since there was a new general manager. I spoke with the new GM. He went out of his way to say he "just couldn't" promise MSRP. What the hell is stopping him? Well, the bastards obviously don't give a shit about P.R., or they would have stopped themselves to think about whether a few thousand bucks was worth the negative publicity they (I) would generate. You really gotta wonder.

So please try not to support the bastards.

Contract. Get a contract. I'm going to make sure and write one up before I plunk down my deposit.

The number has always been "under 30k". My guess is that it is about 28k, but that number will change a lot in the next 10 months.

They haven't even told us dealers. Any dealer who says he will gurantee you that he will sell the car for MSRP is lying. He just wants you to keep him in your mind and when they actually come out. The only thing I can tell my customers is that when it comes expect to pay something over sticker. I have no idea how much it will cost, nor any official specs. The only info that us dealers have are that they are coming and they are fast. I drove the Japanese spec Evo 6 and 7 and they were the most amazing cars I have ever driven. I will say this the 6 was a bit too extreme, it was like driving a race car, real raw. The 7 was almost m3ish. Refined but lethal.

Check out one of our stores if you live in California. I will NOT gurantee MSRP or availability to anyone unless they put down a non refundable deposit. It will be very hectic and we are in business to make money, anyone who states otherwise is simply lying. Honesty is the best policy.
