1992 Stanza Engine Problem

Have installed a new timming chain and one bent valve. Had to move came gear one tooth back so dist. can be adjusted for correct timming. There is compression inall cylinders. If I align marks on crank and cam to chain, dist. can not be rotated far enough to put it in time. now engine does not seam to have enough power to pull hills without putting foot to floor and the automatic downshifting, when this is done engine roars loud through air breather. No backfires, missings and slow at increasing speed. Thank you for any help.

When my guides were worn, my Stanza jumped back a notch and I had the same sound come out of the intake. You must not be on the right tooth.
