Let's continue.
The windscreen. The tires. These are the resin copies from this kit. The wheels. The 3D model of the front wheel. And finally the front and the rear wheels from 3D printer. |

Re: Lancia Stratos Zero
How did you soften the resin enough to decrease the radius of the tire?

Re: Lancia Stratos Zero
It was softened in a hot water (100ºC). But it was not enough to fix the result. Then the tire was inserted into a round holder and heated again by means of lamp bulb. Only after that the tire has remembered its new shape. Then a seam was glued by cyanoacrylate.

Re: Lancia Stratos Zero
Can you share with us the information of what and how you casting these tires?
Himself also experimenting with the performance of the soft tires in order to add greater realism of models. Therefore, any comments and experiences are very precious to me. What form do you perform one-piece? I'll be very grateful if you answer |

Re: Lancia Stratos Zero
Pablo13: These copies were made for me by my friend. He is a very experienced man. He is used products of the Axson company (don't remember which exactly, probably UR 3450: http://www.axson-technologies.com/en...ane-Elastomers).
He is used also vacuum technology that gives a superb quality of casted parts. Hope it helps you. By the time I have ordered new prototypes for the rims and the upper gills. They are very expensive, but fine. Soon I will show them. |
