Installing a Window Closer Module?

I wasn't sure where to ask my question about this module/alarm device. Sorry if this is the wrong area.

I recently installed a Power Window Kit for my 1997 Plymouth Van. The installation of the Power Window Kit and electrical with switches was a simple procedure for me, since it had a good instructional manual that I could follow.

Now then, this kit came with an extra feature called a Window Closer Module and it's instructions are a bit vague. Can someone please assist me with this, since I am instructed to rewire the Power Window switches with this device, but it's not very illustrative. Please note that the Window Closer Module has it's own electrical wiring, and it's usually sold as an extra item. It's designed that when I trigger my car alarm, the power windows will automatically roll-up.

Thanks in advance, and let me know if you have any further questions.

Here is the kit I purchased:

Here is a picture of the exact Window Closer Module:

Here is a PDF copy of the Instructions for the Module (I scanned it): Download PDF

Re: Installing a Window Closer Module?

Many alarm questions are discussed over at our Car Audio forums since they are often handled by the same kind of installation shops. I've copied this thread over there for you.

Re: Installing a Window Closer Module?

I appreciate all the replies. Sorry I didn't respond earlier, but somehow I didn't get the email notifications.

I will visit the two links you both suggest. All of you are very helpful.

And yes, I still haven't connected this module yet, since I have not been able to figure it out on my own. I tried contacting the seller, but he did offer some instructions--but they were not what I really needed or discussed at least this module on how to proceed in either connecting it with the switches.

Re: Installing a Window Closer Module?

PaulD, I got to see your nice project. Read and viewed page 4 (doors), but I'm afraid you don't talk about anything about what I need.

You see, I have already installed the power window kit (motors and switches). That was the easy part for me. (Thinking out loud now: I should have taken pictures during the process--maybe next time when I have to then install power locks--I promise.)

What I need help with is an alarm/module that this kit came with (as a bonus piece), that when I turn on my car alarm, it will automatically roll up the power windows.

I need to know how to connect it--especially where it seems it instructs me to cut into the switches of the power windows. I am very good with connecting electronics, as long as there is good instructions. Thanks in advance if you got something you can help me with.

I did provide a PDF download of the diagram of the module if you wish to look at it and help me figure it out. See the lower part of the my first post above. You'll see the PDF link (underneath the last picture).

Thanks for the invite of the PM thing.. but I think it would be better for everyone here in this forum, if we can discuss this procedure publicly.. this way it helps the next chap that has a similar issue/question. This way it's archived.

Re: Installing a Window Closer Module?

I agree it's often better to talk about it in the open forum ....

In the pic you scanned in, the smaller connector of wires on the module goes to the power locks and the bigger one goes to the power windows. You choose which of the 2 choices for each by whether a negative or positive pulse activates it.
