S2000 widebody WIP

For a long time I've thought about doing a widebody S2000, but wasn't sure how it would look. Then I saw the Amuse S2000 and knew it would look GOOD. I've never attempted a wide body before, but once I saw Appleseed's S2000 I got inspired. It's not the Amuse S2000, it's not the Tracy Sports S2000 either. It's along the same lines though. I started it a few months back, but I just recently FINALLY got myself a digicam. Still a ways to go. Let me know what you think!

Actually, I haven't thought about color yet. Maybe Yellow with a carbon hood and deck lid. Orange, graphite, blue. I'm open to any suggestions. I just don't want to do it white.

Brilliant body fabrication, looking forward to see it finished. As far as colour i think this would look great painted Camel Yellow by Tamiya or perhaps other light colors to empahsise the wide body work..

Looking great! I've been seeing this in your sig but hadn't seen the thread yet. I'm super impressed, especially with the little vent by the taillights. Did you cut the front quarter off and glue it further out, or did you fab up a new quarter over the old?

Re: S2000 widebody WIP

Might i suggest a metalic orange with the mentioned CF hood and deck lid, and possible some other aaccent accessories i.e. canards, wing etc.? That would look great to go along with the already great bodywork!

Keep us posted!

Yup! I cut the front quarter off and glued it further out, along with some styrene sheet for support. The top sectoin above the body line was styrene, so it would match up with the body. The rear quarters were built over top of the original.

Thanks for the comments guys! I was thinking a brighter color would be best as well, to show of the body work. I've been trying to figure out what to do with the front bumper. I don't want it to look like the Amuse or Tracy Sports S2000. Once I get that figured out and get the side skirts finished up I can get this thing in first primer to look for flaws.

Re: S2000 widebody WIP

Small update. The side skirts are getting closer to being done. The front fender will also be extended down to the lip on the side skirts.

BTW... do you guys think the side skirts are a little too low? I might trim a little off the bottom. Let me know what you think.

Re: S2000 widebody WIP

I'm very impressed with the work you've shown. I really like the way the widebody fits the body. I cant wait to see more.

As far as the side skirt, I think it looks a little tall. You could do a few things to change that. Its hard to tell which would fit best depending on the way you finish the skirt. You could add a rocker panel below the door, and have the skirt attach to that. On the other hand you could just make the skirt shorter and make the ride height lower.

Re: S2000 widebody WIP

Finally started work on this again. Still a little rough, but you get the idea. Started on the front. Still not 100% sure how the front is going to look. The bottom of the fenders won't be sticking out like that either. Feedback's always welcome!
