Question hooking up DVD player to head unit with no result...please help

Hey guys, I have a Beautiful system in my 1990 Accord. And I just got a Portable Stand alone monitor with the DVD player, I tryed to hook the audio out to the RCA jacks on the back of my Alpine head unit, and I get absolutely no sound! Help me out guys...

if its from the alpine unit TO the dvd or whatever, it would be audio in...???

You can't hook them up to RCA jacks. RCA jacks are for pre-amp outputs. They take the signal to the amp. You can't put a signal into them. I guess your "beautiful" system isn't so beautiful because you cd player doesn't have inputs and won't work to play sound out of your tv.

If the TV has a headphone jack in it the best thing to do would be to get an FM Modulator and hook it up so that the sound will play through and FM station.

if a set of RCA jacks is an input, it will be labeled as such ... usually AUX IN

What model alpine is it cause pauls right you need AUX in. And tr10av rca jacks have many uses, input, output, cd changer, AUX in, satellite radio whatever it may be some HU can have 5 set of rca jacks.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

you should use an fm modulator like tr10av said. Easiest way to do it.Without input jacks
