will I lose some balance effect?

I am thinking about installing my tweeters flush mounted in my dash. The left channel tweeter will be a few inches left of the deck, facing the driver side, and the right channel tweeter would be a few inches right of the deck, facing the passenger side. I am concerned that when the music bounces from left to right, the effect will not be as great. But then I also think, maybe it will be better. My whole dash is all ripped out right now, and my cables are d/c as well, so it would be a lot of work to hook it back up, then hook up the crossovers and tweets, and then hold them there while trying to listen, so I figured it would be easier to ask you guys since you usually know just about everything when it comes to car audio. Thanks... Rick

Re: will I lose some balance effect?

I would say the balance would be fine. Make sure you have left as left and right as right (sorry, just make sure before you put it all back together...). I know there are some songs out there that slowly fade from right to left (vice versa...) which could cause a little difference in how smootly the sound transfers from one side to the other because the tweeters may end up working almost like a center speaker. But overall I would say go for it.

Mounting tweeters in the dash is a big no-no for sound quality.

Im not sure, but from what I got from the mounting location, they're going to be fairly close to the radio facing the seats...I could be wrong though.

yeah thats what I was saying. I was going to have them facing the seats, they would have been vertical, not horizontal, and they would be on the front of the dash, not on the top. I have already installed them at the base of the A pillars though. I will get some pictures of my dash, and show you all where I was planning the install, so then you can tell me what you think.
