Is this a good system to get?

I was just wondering if this would be a good system to get or not. The system consistis of fosgate punch amp 301 (rms power=40x4). Fosgate 6.5 inch component speakers in front (FNP2614). Fosgate 5.25 inch speakers in back (HPC2205). I also need suggestions for a deck. Ive hear Alpine are very good but also Ive look at the pioneer and I really like them. I really want a deck that has mp3 playback. Thanks for any input.

Alpines are very good. I have the Alpine 9813 and I am VERY pleased. As far as your speakers...I'm sure they'll be good. I'm not a big fan of RF but if thats your thing...go with them

Alpine makes some great headunits. If you want Pioneer go to www.thezeb.com I would recommend www.ikesound.com, but they charge shipping now. I dunno about rockford lately. They've went the way Jensen went way back when and they are more quantity than quality.

Yeah, I would say go with the Alpine. Yeah, the higher end Pioneer have the cool displays, but you would get better sound quality and options on the Alpine 9813. I second the pass on the Rockford speakers. I would go with Infinity Reference series (or Kappa if you want to spend more and send them more power).

Re: Is this a good system to get?

i have a set of Fosgate components, and they are very high quality, IMHO. They offer awesome clarity, especially on the >10kHz notes....read: they get LOUD

if you are going to amp all your speakers, then the clarity of the internal amp on the head unit doesnt matter, but if you are going to use the internal amp, then look into a head unit with a good internal amp
