Adding 2nd battery causes resistance?
Hey i got a kenwood xxc indash which powers my mmats 2100.05 and the jl 13w7. I also got 2 2.4 fahred power caps connected and i have a stinger battery sittin inm y garage. Circuit city said it woudl cause resistance to add the battery. Im not sure if they told the truth or they just didnt want to oinstall it to save time. let me know yoiur thoughts on this

if you mean that you won't get as much power to the amps because there is a battery between them and the main battery that is b/s. as long as the alternator can handle it you could have 15 volts or higher at the rear battery. I have 15 volts at the alt post and 14 at the rear battery. 14 volts suits me just fine.

I think what they were meaning is .... when you add another battery, you are putting another load on the alternator -since the alt has to charge it too. Additionally, if you just parallel them - the lower one will drain the higher one (hi/low volts wise).

Never mix brands or types or modles of batteries unless you use an isolator.

Yeah i had a battery isolatoer connected but circiut city took it out now i gotta redo it.
