I don't like buying any audio stuff at a "local" audio store because of what you just listed is what usually happens (in my experience anyway) and they are always the most expensive source (well, maybe crutchfield sometimes).

they probably threw them away, have them open a new box to show you what comes with it.

Re: Did i get screwed????/

according to alpine's website you should have gotten a remote control.

if you go to this website you can see the manual for you deck.
iweb.alpine-usa.com/html/asb/owner/cda-9851_om.pdf

it takes a while to download the manual. took me about 45 seconds or so. but i'm on a T3 connection i think. if you want, i can send it to you through email or an IM.

I say if you bought it new (if it was a "floor model" you may have less clout), you got screwed...take it back and either make them give you a manual for the cd player model, the wireless remote, and the box it should have came in. If they refuse, make them uninstall it and give you a refund. Installing headunits is pretty easy, just get the wiring harness (the cage if it's required) any adapters needed for that model, etc..consider looking into that and doing it yourself next time. If you DO have someone else do it...open the box BEFORE you pay and make sure everything is in it. Then either specify to them you want EVERYTHING back, new and old parts..and tell them DO NOT dump anything. After that you can just give them whats needed to install it and keep the rest yourself, thereby making sure you have it.
