Help with Choosing Speakers

Hey i have a 94 Accord LX sedan, i know its 6.5 in the front and back speakers. I want to upgrade the speakers but not wanting to spend more than 100 for everything (4 speakers). Im leaning towards Pioneer that give out 35 watts rms. Im running it off my head unit which is Panasonic putting out 23 watts rms. Can i get better speakers for the price? Help

If you are looking to spend $100 dollars for all 4, Pioneers are in your range. You can buy them cheap at Walmart. But you wont be satisfied with the sound. Spend a little more to get better sound. I noticed you are a 2pac fan. It is a sin to listen to "California Love" without good High speakers. Everytime I get new Highs I They are tested with California Love

Re: Help with Choosing Speakers

I dont want to run the speakers off an amp just the head unit so i cant have really powerful speakers. Are there any other good ones you can suggest that wont break the wallet? I just want to upgrade stock speakers nothing too fancy plan on getting a sub later on so i probably just need highs and mids il leave the lows for the sub.

Are Pioneers better than Kenwoords?

Re: Help with Choosing Speakers

You can still get higher power speakers without amping them... I would go with sofast on this one. Get the pioneers. There are a few different types you can choose like one-way, two-way or three-way. I would get at least the two way speakers.

Also, make sure you check the depth of the speakers for the install in the doors. I had to mod the door to make them fit when I upgraded.

Re: Help with Choosing Speakers

Is it a big difference if i got Alpine type S speakers, they are 40 watts rms and sound quality might be better? It will come out about $30 more for the two pairs. Will it be worth it or should i just stick with the pioneers? By the way the Pioneers are 3-way, they dont have 2 way in that model. And the Alpine is 2 way.

I was looking around and the Alpine Type S Coaxile 2 way speaker comes in size 6.5 / 6-3/4 (oversized 6.5). Will it fit in regular 6.5 opening in my accord? Or will they have to cut the door panel or something??

Also for the installation, i plan on buying them from a local shop here in L.A., theyll install it for free if i buy it from there, might not be authorized though i dont know il find out. But theyll do the installing.

So its Pioneers for $103 shipped or Alpines for $130 shipped

Re: Help with Choosing Speakers

Spend a little more and buy better speakers, pioneers are quite a joke and don't sound all that great. You might as well stick with stock.
