323I Starting problems

My 323I started acting up today. It was first a short lag between turning key and the car starting. Then when you turned the key, the lights go on and off and the engine will not turn over. the battery's eye is green and the interior lights are burning bright. Any ideas on potential issues?

blah

Just because your lights are bright doesn't mean your battery has enough charge to power the starter. dash lights and a starter are like the difference between a remote control and a color TV set. your lights don't go out until the battery is completely drained.
