'95 Heater Fan w/ mouse nest

Hi,

New to the forum, did a search on heater but did not turn up much. Any info appreciated.

Mice have started a nest in my heater fan! Overnight! The fan will only turn if it's on med or high and I'm sure it is sucking way too much current. It is blowing mouse nest grass and crap all over the cab.

Any tips on how to get into the heater fan and heater core area to clean this out?

Where are the mice entering? Under the hood somewhere?

All comments welcome,
-Craig

Ok, So I stop at my Local Garage (LG) on the way home from and ask him how to get into my heater box. Not a problem.

'95 Toyota Tacoma - Fan is located under dash, far passenger side. Three screws (star shaped but with a straight slot) drop the whole unit. Clean out. Replace. Time required = .25 to .5 hr. Done.

The heater core is NOT there. The mouse entry point is NOT there.

If you wanted a response, I think you should have stayed away from the mice nest thing and just asked how to access the fan and core.

The information you wanted is probably in the 1993 pick-up FSM in the sticky post in the Toyota Pick-Up forum.

The mice may be getting into the fan through any of the ducts.
