Yes to program keyless transmitter you have to access data link connector same connector you hook scan tool to under dash just to the left of the steering column ground the dark green wire in cavity 1 in connector turn key on and door locks will cycle then press and hold a button on transmitter door locks will cycle to acknowledge transmitter must program all transmitters at same time eaven the functional transmitter must be reprogramed all at same time

Re: 1997 dodge ram keyless entry
The connector has two rows of wires now cavity one is one of the holes of one of the 4 corners of the connector look for the dark green wire on the connector at one of the corners or very edge of the connector and just follow my previous instructions and presto remotes will be programed
good luck !!!!!!!! {by the way i have many many years of mopar experience and access to any info also } |

How about a 98 Ram with Silencer alarm? I have the valet switch but lost the directions that came with my replacement remote. |

Re: 1997 dodge ram keyless entry
Well ohiodave i'm affraid your out of luck with the 1998 this is the first year that Dodge equipped their trucks with dual air bags and with that they also changed some electronics in the process and added a central timer modual and with this if you don't have an operational remote you must visit dealer for programing factory installed remotes sorry to bring this bad news
