well, its a purdy car and you did a purdy drawing of it. i would fix the left side of the roof because it seems a little high. and also (i know the rim looks like that in the ref. pic. but....)the black parts near the center of it make it look like it is broken off. you have the "artistic license" to just go ahead and connect those spokes. even if the reference pic. doesn't look like that. i don't know if it was just the way it was scanned but the darker parts of the reflections and the interior need to be darker. over all...
very nice

Re: TVR Sagaris Just Finished!

I'll do the wheel, as I thought it looked a bit broken off myself. As for the roof, its like that on the real thing, and is there for extra room for the driver. Thats why it looks odd! I'll try and get the updated pic asap

Here's the update. Darkened the interior and some of the body, and changed the wheels so they don't look like they've broken off

The Picture:

Hi Ross,

Your drawing looks great, your improvements are good.

I just realized something. You have that dark roof line because the paper and top value of the roof are the same. Decrease the boldness of the roof line and add some tone up there and let that form a line for you.

Your other option:

Lighten the roof line and add some dark tone for a background.

Those are just my opinions but I think the ride looks great.
You also drawing from hard to use ref. photo. All the darks are hiding the details and is hard to see the light source.. Have you tried to lighten your ref. photo w/ a photo editor? I think you did a great job w/ what you had.

Take care

Alfred

I'm still 100% anti-trace...

Nice shading though...

Re: TVR Sagaris Just Finished!

Who said I traced it? I didn't!

Like i've said many times before, I only trace to save time. My drawings don't look much different whether i've traced them or not.

yes. a lot of people don't get that for some reason. you understand that to 'trace' or to 'eyeball' is nearly the same thing!

btw, your drawing is awesome!!!

Bonzelite: um.. whats eyeballing, maybe im not getting this. Tracing doesnt need much effort from the artist, and eyeballing needs at least some skill, i mean i can go and trace something quickly, all proportions right, everything in the right place, i mean he is tracing to save time but he isnt like drawing to a deadline, is he? I can understand if u trace because u have a quick deadline, but he draws alot of cars and if he has that time, y not jus freehand it? I think "tracing" and "freehanding" is very different. Correct me if im wrong, and can someone explain what eyeballing is, i think its looking at a picture and drawing it and if im right it is very different from tracing.
