Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

what I learn during the years of those kinda building is that Milliput and glue in general needs quite a little bit time to be completely dry.
I took a little pause then visiting an amazing baltic island, the Gotland.
Gotland is a paradise in the sea. It is the island of sun and wind and too many in sweden love this place as well.
For me is a different sea island, being my house based on the north sea.

some pics to understand how beauiful this part of sweden can be..

then back home i fixed some parts as front air intake and the lower part of the sides. Just about naca ducts I am still not sure on how to move. In many pics they are not present at all, however I think the body is nearly complete now.
The front lip was quite difficult to build, mostly cause it has a curved shape under the front air intake, so typical of this car.
Ford made an amazing racer btw..

still have to find a proper tyre for my ford gt. HD makes rubbers for their 20" rims, but front ones looks so thin and low profile. Was thinking to use the set tyre from my toyota gt-one...will make some fit tests during those days as well...

Yes my friend, is very similar. The only difference is temperature in colder seasons and the price of life, of course higher up there.

Ah and they can't have our stunning tasty alcolics drinks so easy

Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

WoW Paolo, WoW. I love you GT conversions. Your's has progress so much better than mine. I'll definitely have to "borrow" some of your ideas for mine.

Here's what I'm going with for wheels

And I think for the tires, they are from one of the Fujimi McLaren MP412-C GT3 kits.

Looking forward to more.

Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

back on track after a pause. we have no hurry in those projects.
The pictures iīve seen on fb are mostly around an american modeller building Slotfabrick model and a german one making the same, but think this one (frank?) uses it for racing.
I seen they made different rear splitters from the pictures i have. probably during the season ford changed it.

My picture shows this:

while they made this other:

so I must remember I am making the car without naca ducts on the front end, probably an early type (I am focused on le mans car mostly..)

Now was time to focus mostly on the overall setup. Being a curbside model I really would like to give her the typical aggressive look, mostly on rear wheels, cause is too easy to make it look at the end with wheels too much inside, as probably they must in slotracing..

here my setup. Tires are from tamiya honda NSXGT

Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

Thanks Chuck. I am building many other stuff (mostly scratchbuild planes of the 30s) , can proceed with my cars only in spare time. Thanks god today there is profil24 model around to build this nice modern Ford. Surely easier than my way, and I like profil kits. soon seems also scaleauto will come to 1/24 scale with a 991 rsr, so also that can be done easier than mine.
Just ferraris are still a little bit tricky to fnd surely cause royalties issues...

@denilsonvm
Looking at all your masterpieces this is a great compliment. Thank you really . It is impressive how u make theme. thanks always for sharing my friend.

Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

Always a pleasure to follow your work on models, I like this way of "just" finding a good base and then making a great model with a lot of plastic card, putty, cutting, sanding... and sweat !!

Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

ciao

Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

@dany:
slotfabrick decals are ok. go with theme.
They are dumbproof, so itīs easy to use them.

I went on with my ford gt.
as usual I really cant wait to give her some paint and start to look her overall appeal.
Before this I anyway fixed copmpletely the wheels, now with decals and just missing the micro valve on the rims.

on the same plate I prepared the ones for 458gt2, 458 gt3 and alfa 75 IMSA.

then was time to prepare the lower lip in the back of the car. Itīs a typical part of this ford. I made it in sheet styrene

and then lets start with painting. before i gave an overall light gull gray surface primer on the body. This car has the american flag colors (I love such colors), so the sequence will be white-red and then blue. some kilos of tamiya tape are required for it. I used Gunze colors as my usual
