Re: need help really bad

not everyone wants to spend the money for the SVT tranny + custom axles + trying to get the damn clutch to work?
the zx2 already has great gearing for autoX (proven by how well the msp does) and if you just want a stronger tranny the zxtuner sells a bullet broof tranny with better gearing, a stronger diff and 200hp rated axles for 1500 that is a direct swap. as opposed to the only guy that did a mtx75 swap it took him months. there is NO logical reason to ever swap in a 6spd or the mtx75, he only did it cuz at the time there was no aftermarket for the zx2 tranny.

Re: need help really bad

G5M is ZX2... G15M is the Mazdaspeed protege...

svt focus 6spd would cost you above and beyond 3k and is hardly worth the swap. some have experamented w/ cryo treatment on the ZX2 gears and personally (though they say its better) i think that it would make them more brittle and prone to shattering. i have just learned however, that the G15M from the MSP has a different bell housing, but the gears, forks etc. may fit into a zx2 bell housing.

but lets all just face the facts... why would anyone want to Fuckusize their ZX2? i wouldn't... wtf would you even call that... a ZXMutant or something? despite the fact that it is a six speed and i know everyone craves a 6spd... its a peice of shit... the 4.10 gears of the ZX2(if they were stronger) would be ideal for anything you wan't... well, besides a turbo or s/c...

Re: need help really bad

they are the same tranny, teh zx2 has g5m from 98-99 adn tehn g15m from late 99-2003, the only difference was the g15m had crappier syncros.

and a getrag can be had for like $800

Re: need help really bad

ya, you could get it for that but the swap and electronics and all that would cost way more... its not like switching from auto to manual... its trying to do something that the ZX2 wasn't designed for.

Re: need help really bad

whats the point? i can run faster than an SVT w/ only an S/R pcm... why would you wanna do that? i don't get it, whats the catch? bottom end being the same and all... for an extra 40 hp that is lost in the gearing... waste of my time. anyone else can do it... ill sit back and watch their zxmutant have more problems than my thorough bred zx2...

Re: need help really bad

put in a S/R computer or a superchip, UDP(afx), and a header, and intake. wake that think up, i have a S/R and can smoke them rather easily. in 1998 the ZX2 was the fastest car for under 20k(it was 13k new)
