1999 century wont start
I can figuer out why my car wont start.Never had this problem.I had a flat tire and been calling all over to find one.It sat 3 weeks at my moms. The dummy tire we manage to put on which took 4 girls to do on the front driver side.It was almost touching the ground so decided to leave it were its at tile find tire.Sis said someone late at night has been walking around it.Its parked way up in my moms yard.Everything seamed to be ok,doors still locked and everything. We decided to put the dummy tire on back and put back tire on front,But the car would not start.nothing.Hooked it to a car with cables let it charge up.I got lights and electric seat moved up but still would not start. We let it charge like that for 1 hr. or so.and still would not start.Dont have a clue what to check or do.Anyone have any ideas? Thanks I need all help I can get.

Re: 1999 century wont start
Charge the battery fully. When you attempt to start the vehicle, turn the key to the RUN position without attempting the crank the engine (the first stop). When the key is in RUN, observe the warning lamps on the instrument panel. Does the "SECURITY" or "Anti-Theft" lamp turn on for about five seconds and then turn off, or does it remain on?

Does the vehicle crank over and not start, or it doesn't crank over at all?

Re: 1999 century wont start
When I first got in it there was no dash lights, seat didnt work, light above head didnt work, head lights didnt work and there was no sound at all when I turn the key to start it.All lights on dash lights up and stays on,head lights work, electric seat works, light above head works.--But it didnt work at all until we tried to jump it with cables and can hear clicking under the hood now ,when i tried to start it before there was no clicking sound.

Re: 1999 century wont start
The description of the symptoms might indicate a weak/shorting battery or poor connections. Begin with the basics. Remove, clean, and check the battery connections and the main ground connections at the engine and the body. Test the integrity of the battery cables by pulling on them gently. Some of the side terminal battery cables have been observed to corrode within the plastic insulation near the battery end, making for a poor, resistive connection.
