Subaru Outback Transmission
Hi. My local garage has indicated to me that, due to a break in the differential, I need to replace the whole transmission.
cost of part: $1100 Cost of labour: $800 (roughly 9 hours) year of vehicle: 2004 warranty provided: 1 year. I drive around 7000 km per year (4500 miles). If this repair lasted 2 years, then I would be quite happy. Because I have no experience in maintaining an old vehicle, I have no reference point to understand if this is a fair price. For example: Would 2 guys need around 4-5 hours to replace a transmission (properly of course). Other detail: the only other major repair I have had was a change to the front ball joints. thank you |

Re: Subaru Outback Transmission
What year is your Outback?
How many miles? For answers of that kind I usually go to ultimatesubaru.org and click on the "New generation Subaru" Ask the same question there. Good luck, Sam
