Power Steering feels tight 2004 Venture
I have a 2004 Venture where the power steering feels tight. Any ideas?
Fluid level is good. No leaks (had it repaired a year ago where line was leaking, and now repaired). Turning the wheel under most circumstances feels pretty normal. However, say, doing parking maneuvers SOMETIMES feels like I have non-power steering for maybe a quarter turn, and then it picks up again. Any idea how to troubleshoot this? Thanks in advance.

So, I am guessing it's a pump going out?

I would have someone turn the steering wheel while it exhibits this condition and I would watch the power steering pump pulley to make sure your serpentine belt is not slipping. It's an easy thing to check.

I've had pump shafts snap at the input bearing, and the pump would sometimes pump and sometimes not. With the engine off, can the pump sheave be moved in and out?
