LC - 1/24 Toyota Celica Gr.B - Portugal Rally 1984
I just start a new model project.
This kit was created by a great friend, Luca Cavicchi, and it is an hnonor to build it. I hope I achieve a good result in the end. I started by the Body Kit. I clean the windons area, it is easy to do, there are feel points to work at this point. I already open the hood air extractors: And the front grille: Doing this early work in the kit I noticed the good resin and casting quality presented by this resin kit. Next Step is the engine hood alignment, some sand work is needed to adjust: See you soon! Thanks for watching! Last edited by CMalfitani; 07-27-2015 at 09:21 PM. Reason: Correct the Images URL |

Re: LC - 1/24 Toyota Celica Gr.B - Portugal Rally 1984
Thanks a lot puffyrs!
One small step was achieved today I almost finish the primary adjust of the bonnet. To adjust I sand the internal part of the bonnet and apply some heat with hair dryer to matching the bonnet with the front fenders. Today I don't have to many time free to work on the Celica. Thanks for watching! See you soon! Carlos Malfitani. |

My old one past away, I opened the can and it is totally dry....: Tomorrow Is Friday, I will restart the work on Celica on next Monday... Have a nice weekend! Thanks for watching! Best Regards. Re: LC - 1/24 Toyota Celica Gr.B - Portugal Rally 1984
Hello Everyone!
First of all my thanks to GTRfan01 and Stevenoble for the Tip! I try a mix of CA Glue + resin powder obtained from the model sanding process to fill the bubbles of the hood flips. Amazing technics! Another little progress achieved today: I fill with Bondo the sanding scratches on the trunk and hood exhaust holes, to posteriorly sand with a fine sandpaper (600): I am sand and prepare the underbody too, removing excess of resing and molding marks (easy to remove due to high quality of resin and casting process. Thanks for watching! See you tomorrow! Carlos Malfitani. |

Re: LC - 1/24 Toyota Celica Gr.B - Portugal Rally 1984
Today I almost no have any improvent, For a good reason, two new rally kits, from the Rally Legend Walter Rohrl just arrive on my hands.
Kadett C GTE from Arena Modelli and Ascona A from Scale Production. Two relevant 70's rally cars from Opel. By now these Opels come beck to the box, let's go back to the Celica. Today I wash all resin parts with water and soap, to remove dthe release agent. The sanding work on the underbody is on going... I hope to asseble the hood flips until the end of this week... Thanks for watching. See you soon! Carlos Malfitani. |

Re: LC - 1/24 Toyota Celica Gr.B - Portugal Rally 1984
Hello Everyone,
One more little step on the Celica Build Today I applied primer to the Engine Bonnet and Engine Bonnet Splits to have a better idea of the points to correct before the split assembly to the bonnet. The underbody sand work is on going. Tomorrow, I hope to assembled at least one side of the splits on the bonnet. Thank for watching! See you soon! Carlos Malfitani. |

Re: LC - 1/24 Toyota Celica Gr.B - Portugal Rally 1984
Another late update (It's already 00:10 AM in Brazil)
In older projects I learned that the movable parts are critical. Then in this project I pay special attention to the door trunk and to the bonnet. Today I almost finish the adjust of the door trunk to the body. Some micro point need to be fill on departure angle of the rear spoiler. Easy to do anyway. I already applied the resin primer to the door trunk, to make the little points to correct more clearly. The sand job of the underboy is almost done. Little point need to be sand yet. I expect to finish the sand job on the underbody and finally fix the splits on the bonnet this weekend. Monday and Tuesday is holiday in the city that I work, then I will made a new post only after the holiday. Thanks for watching! Have a nice weekend! See you soon! Carlos Malfitani. |

Re: LC - 1/24 Toyota Celica Gr.B - Portugal Rally 1984
Hello everyone!
This week I prepare some resin parts, made and revise roles according to the assembly instrunctions (thanks for the detailed instructions Luca!) I started the base surface coat application. For the first time I use the Mr. Hobby (Gunze) resin Primer, i like the preliminar result. This week a new model arrived the Opel Ascona 400 from Gass Model. Another great job of Luca, made before the Celica. Thanks for these magnificent models Luca, they became any rally collection much more representative! Thanks for watching! See you soon! Carlos Malfitani. |
