Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
setup then:
from 3d some adjustment to the wheel was necessary mostly in the front wheel arches the wheels "sits" a little more thighter than what I had before then I start to prepare the dime for the real windows. Not so easy to deduct the shape of a missing part. This will surely be mould in vacuform

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
I must confess (and apologize to those feeling hurt ) but I am nearly happy group B was banned and group S cancelled as I find this car really ugly (I quite like the ECV1 though).
Btw, I will follow this one with great attention, as anything in martini colors attracts me |

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
Oh yes, she was absolutely ugly,I agree
It is anyway a fascinating car that ended the line of the mighty group B and open the doors to amazing cars like 959 and F40. A sort of "what if" on 4 wheels, and amazing Italian technology of the late 80s. I definitely like her then

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
As usual, perfect work!
I will not discuss if this rally car is ugly or not, but only sure is that it has something special that attracts me... maybe because was forbidden |

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
thanks all guys, glad also you are interested in this misteryious car of the past.
George, I work with plasticard. Dime is 3mm thick. Idea is to make a resin copy of it and then vacuform all the part, exactly as I did for the windshield of the Dino 206s u have there. I just hope we can have a similar quality also here, cause that Dino part was friendly made by an ultra skilled bike modeller (grazie sempre Roby !), and was critical to have it moulded in the best way ever, being a front windshield. This one is otherwise a rear one, and should be painted in black, or as in the real car, in a very dark smoke grey, if someone wants to add a triflux biturbo engine. Ps. as some friends advised me, seems there could be some problems in big parts 3d printed by shapeways. Both in ultra hi res seems big parts suffer of a sort of "oil leaking" as if the part is not completely dry or catalized, and is usually not noticeable over smaller parts as rims or wheels. It also happened to me back in time but was thinking just at an unlucky part. This could be a majior issue if somebody plans simply to finish a model using such body and paint over it, cause primers are not working at all. This body is NOT produced by shapeways and is indeed hard and dry like a ceramic piece. From the few I know about its origin is also way too expensive (I have been told in the area of 1000 euro, without the 3d design work to do it...)

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
Grazie Luca.
going on with inside paert of this car. Spent some days in testfitting for the setup. Being a curbside is a critical point, cause I would like the car to sit on her wheels properly. I cant stand high setups, as well as the original delta from hasegawa 4example. so made many test and now I think I got it.. I like a lot rally cars in the asphalt configuration, very low and with large slick tyres, like those ones, corrisponding to the few pics around of the actual moke up car.

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
Sparco seat in white metal done, as well as the main parts for the cockpit.
The steering wheel will be the the leftover one from my Alfa 155 in Nannini version (2 brackets st wh). I made a final moke up for the overall look of this car,of course the setup should be decided during the real final assembly of the model. This one I show here is just to have an idea. Hope you like it. Now she will be back to 3d designer to define PE parts and a nice complete decal sheet.I hope it will take few more wheeks of work, cause this final part is no longer under my responsability. Really hope soon I can show it in "for sale" section as a complete full kit..... and maybe in the future make an extra kit for the complete Triflux engine, that for matter of costs now we dont think to proceed with (final price can be too high for those kinda unique model..) Thanks a Lot to Luca Cavicchi for his very important tips during this wip.
