3000GT LS AT TRans

Hello AutoForums!!! Need advice. I need to replace my trans on the 3000GT can i replace with AWD trans instead of a regular AT (o/d)trans. The trans that is on my car now has no gears but 1st it drives but after a while it does not move car rolls to a complete stop. However, when i turn the car off and back on the car moves for about another block but then its stops running again.

you are FWD... you need a FWD automatic transmission. You'll end up spending about $2000-$3000 to convert your car to manual transmission, then convert an AWD transmission to be able to use in a FWD application.

Get a good used FWD automatic transmission for $800, I can sell you a rebuilt one for $1200 with all new wear parts, and you'll be good to go.

It costs about the same to convert to manual as it does to rebuild the auto. (finding good used parts)

Only a few hours worth, almost all of which is on the interior. I've done it twice now, and would do it again before ever bothering with an ATX. Too many advantages to going 5-speed. But that's my personal opinion.
