Re: Used VR/VS
try all the local rags and the auction houses
They have some great bargains and will usually have a good range of low k examples When inspecting the car ensure to take the oil and radiator caps off and check for dirty deposits on them (like brown on the oil cap will indicate that there is waster in the oil and there is terminal damage) Run the engine when you check it out (if possible) to check for noisy tappets or lifters and to check that there is no apparent electrical faults Also be sure to check for leaky front bearing seals on the engine and also check that the power steering pump hasnt leaked at all. If it has it will likely needed to be replaced If you can drive the car (auto only at this observation point) check that there is no slip when changing between gears, listen for shakes, rattles, and loud knocks and that it doesnt hunt(continuously change between gears) when driving in city traffic and that it will stay in overdrive when on the open road Be aware of any structrural damage that hasnt been repaired properly when inspecting the car as there will be a fair chance that it will have had a hit at some point Other than that just check for generalk wear and tear on all other components and dont pay anything over 10g for it if it has done any more than 100,000ks |
