2002 Pathfinder Bose Issue (CD skipping, no error message)
Hello all,
I have done a good bit of searching and haven't found a solution to my problem. I have a 2002 Pathfinder LE with Bose indash changer. The changer constantly skips. Usually more when the car is cold. Most of the other posts I have read have to do with "err" messages. I don't have any messages. The songs just keep skipping when there is very little movement. Any thoughts? |

Mine does the same thing only when cold. I just blast the heat on it for a few minutes, but in the winter i usually just use my mp3 player.

Probably needs cleaning. The dirtier the lense is the more finiky reading the cd is going to get. I know in our CD jukeboxes when the laser would get dirty the jukboxes bass would be enough to make it skip. We'd clean it and it would be good to go. If you clean it yourself use a plastic safe cleaner that doesn't contain alcohol. Alcohol will make the lense look opaque after a while and will give you more problems.

i have the same car you do obviously the le with the bose. It skips for me w/o the error message, and it is really annoying. It happened alot more but it has been doing it less now. We keep taking it to nissan, and they keep trying to fix the problem. This obviously really common in these cars.

my 2001 Bose CD player has been dead since we bought it.. it takes the disc in starts to read and then errors out and take at least 5 minute befor eit releases it... time to get a new unit as they get progressively worse until they just don't work at all

Bought an '02 recently and mine did the same. I had it replaced with a a single disc player from Circuit City.

I was told not to do that since the Nissan speaker systems have a 1ohm speaker setup and typical car stereos are setup for 4 or 8 ohm speakers

My 2003 does the same thing and only when it is cold. I just wait till she is warm or listen to the radio. A pain at times but I don't want to replace the system just for that.
