Smile o4 ram 2500, trailer wiring w/codes

Hey guys,
here we go: first i'll say its factory installed tow wiring, on the 7 prong I have power to everything but right brake light, and on the 10 wire connector its the same thing, fuses are good, body codes are: 04, 0C, & 41, all to do with right relay output open.
Also someone had rigged a standard 7 prong in for a goose neck, not using a 4bulb to 2 bulb adapter.
I believe they shorted out the integrated trailer control in the under hood fuse box.
I just wondered if this sounds right?
any help would be appreciated!!!!
