crank sensor keeps going bad.....
what could cause a crank sensor to go bad every time you turn the engine over? i don't see any wires touching or anything.. there is no bare wires and everything looks to be connected? autozone tests them to see if they are bad or not and i have gotten a few different ones from different places... any ideas let me know thanks...

Re: crank sensor keeps going bad.....
are they going bad electronically or are they busted when you take them out?? if they are busted when you take them out, your engine took a shit and crankwalked on you, but you should notice it if it did that. otherwise look up the specs for amps and stuff and check voltage and ohms (resistance) and stuff like that with an ohm meter. that'll tell you if you have something electronically that makes it go bad liek a spike or ground out or something.

Re: crank sensor keeps going bad.....
If your crank is hitting the crank sensor, your car has crankwalked, and that is what's doing it. I don't want to scare you, but it is something that should not be overlooked.
Are you sure it is electrical? P.S. Car model and year would be nice to have in your sig if you expect good help.

Re: crank sensor keeps going bad.....
its a 99gs.. not its not busted it is electronically .. i don't have an ohm meter so i can't test it like that..
i don't know what else it could be besides a ground but i can't find anything that's not connected anywhere.. |

Re: crank sensor keeps going bad.....
if it's a gs you don't have to worry about crankwalk nearly as much. but it could be anything in the wires along the way. short, bad connection, voltage spike, anything like that i would check for. might be a good idea to go to your local shop and ask them what might be causing that problem and see if you can fix it on ur own.
