99 dodge ram HELP!!!!!
I have a 99 dodge ram and my speedometer quick working and my check engine light is on. Also my abs and e-brake lights are on. I read the codes and it said it was the speed senser so I replaced it and it did not help. So does anyone know what it could be?

Re: 99 dodge ram HELP!!!!!
wiring connector to the intrument cluster, check speed sensor output, reset the computer (disconnect battery for 5 min)
The replacement speed sensor could be bad? The wiring between the speed sensor and the Ecm/instument cluster is bad? check the bulkhead connector in the firewall. Slantsixness

did you know there are two speed sensors? i had the exact same problems. brake light, abs, check engine and no speedometer. after asking for the tranny speed sensor the dealer sold me the one that goes on the differential. i had to return and buy the tranny speed sensor. after replacing the second one all was fixed ( i was told to leave the pos battery cable unhooked for 30 min while doing the job)
hope this helps |
