My summer

Well, here are some pictures of what I have seen this summer, so far. Which by the way is far from over.

Awsome sunset.

And by far, the best fire engine I have seen.

Sorry about the poor quality. All these were taken with a disposable camera. Also, we had a feww peeps from New Zealand, and Australia working on this fire too. They sure do talk funny..

That’s so sad. It’s like looking at a picture of Sydney every summer!

How exactly do you stop those fires anyways? I would think they would spread faster than they can be extinguished...

Well, it's certainly nice to know that you had the leisurely ability to stop fighting the fires for a photo-op... j/k

That's pretty nuts though... I've never seen anything like that (except for on TV, etc).

KB, you rule. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I have the most immense respect for firefighters. Especially the volunteers, who give up their homes, jobs, and lives for weeks and weeks to fight "someone else's" fire.

Big ups to you, matey.

...What's the big idea??? You supposed to be out there fighting the fires, or taking pictures of it?!?!?! :right:

Please, note the total sarcasm above. Beautiful pictures, even though they are of destruction. Keep up the noble work, and stay safe man!!

you set up a perimeter around it. When you here that a fire is 75% contained, that just means that their containment line is only 75% around the fire. The fire can't get past that line that they build, so once they have the whole line built around it, then they have it pretty much contained. I think that's about right anyway. My brother is out there right now. He was in Colorado, now in Oregon. I don't have a scanner but I'll try to take some pics with my digicam of his film developed pics. He'll be back in a week with his digicam and I'll have more pics then too. Cool pics KB.

lol, if KB is doing anything like my brother is, it's not volunteer, try about $4500 a month. I agree with you though, I have a lot of respect for all the fire fighters out there too, big thumbs up.
I'll be out there next year too, would have been this year, but I just turned 18 a few days ago. And I'll have those pics on here in a few minutes.

It's all about overtime.

Try 120+ hours a week. That equals a nice little paycheck.

But this has probably been the best job I have had. I have alot of fun. Plus seeing the response from the locals brings a warm fuzzy feeling, and makes you realize you are working for something.
