car is cutting out

my car keeps cutting out whilst i am driving, the engine just totaly shuts down! if i pump the excelorater it will start again, just wondering if any1 knows what could be causing this? cheers

could be your coil packs, i had a problem when driving that i was losing power and it was misfiring. it turned out to be the coil packs.

Mine does this too.. seems like fuel stops being pumped in.. and within 2 or 3 pumps on the gas pedal it takes in fuel again.. I have to go check this out with the dealer.. mine is a 1.2 stella 03 ibiza
