Wake Up People!

No posts?I mean this is a legendary car! Songs have been written about this car! The only affordable transport for many people in post-war Europe! Who has one? I want comments!

Re: Wake Up People!

It'd be like waking the dead! There were no posts in the DS forum either!

I don't own one, but someone who does lives about half a mile away.

It's got history. It's got charm. It's got a canvas top that rolls away. It's got four doors. What's not to like? An engine that had nine hp in the earliest days and 36 in the last? Maybe that, but what's really wrong with that? It's nice for a jaunt!

I think they are cool, but I've never seen one except years ago at an auto show. I was hoping there a bunch of posts here.

I have one !!

Stumbled on to your forum as I was scouting the search engines for spare parts for my 1987 Citroën 2CV Club.

As I am writing from my office computer I have no pictures at the moment, maybe I will post some later on.

Bought the car 3 months ago, and have already replaced the entire wiring loom (the old one was simply rotting away). The car now has a towbar fitted (can tow about 600 lbs with a maximum speed at about 50 mph and a huge increase in braking distances !!)

This is by far the most practical vehicle I have ever own. Have plans for complete restoration, so she will look as new in a couple of years, including a bare metal stripdown, galvanizing both the chassis frame and the rust-free restored body and a respray in the original colour. Only trouble is the price of spares here in Denmark, so my most recent hobby is scouting the local scrapyards.

Keep the good times rolling!

It was my first car, back in the sixties. It had a 425 cc, 12 HP (I believe) motor... it was very, very slow. I now have another one manufactured in 1988, got it from a specialized workshop in Belgium. Bought it out of nostalgia, really.
