3.2tl engine..?

question..anyone here know what engine the Acura 3.2 tl uses? (code)
and a more strange question....what would the possibilty of putting it in a 92 civic hatchback be? im sure its no one day swap like a b16, would it be equiv. to perhaps the h22 swap, or is it completely out of the question? the reason i ask....my brothers friend down in NC had one that he was in an accident with...his mom would sell it to my brother for next to nothing..i guess the body is whooped, but the engine is still sound..so my brother said he'd pick it up for me, but he doesnt know anything about hondas, so he wasnt sure if it was a viable swap......i doubt that it is, but for curiousity's sake...anyone heard of such a thing?

also, does anyone know the specs on it?

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

I believe the code is C32A6 (Correct me if I am wrong). The specs you can find on Acura's web site: http://www.acura.com/model_TL/tl_spec_results.asp Someone else can help you with the swap information...I have not heard of anyone doing this...

if you got the money, then a shop can do it...key word is EXPENSIVE; guess it would cost the same as a B16 + turbo install

There's a shop in GA called Mahdavi Motorsports cramming a 3.2 V6 NSX motor into the BACK of a CRX. It's going to be supercharged+NO2 and called the CR-NSX, pretty badass eh?

holy crap!
ive seen someone put a V6 in the ass of a civic hatchback i think it was....did a RWD hybrid thing, i guess it drove on the honda front engine when he was just driving around, then when he was goin to the drag strip, he'd fire it (V6) up.

i am not thinking this swap is going to be cost efficient for the amount of power your getting. Might as well spend your money on something that has been proven to work, like a B16 or B18 w/ a turbo. It would cause less headaches im sure

the engine would have been from my brothers friend's mom, the car was rolled, and is sitting in her back yard i guess.... i'd get the swap for rediculously cheap.. as for it not being cost effective for the power..... its a 3.2l engine! "there's no replacement for displacement" .... take a 3.2l engine, some engine work, and stick a JRSC on it...im afraid to think of the results..surely more than a 1.8l b18.

It may have been a direct comparison but saying 1.8 liter B18 is still redundant. If anything you were insulting my intelligence by implying that I may not know the displacement of the B18.

We could argue for days but that would accomplish nothing, so i'm ending this now. I apologize for pointing out that all B18's are 1.8 liters, can we be friends now? On another note, dropping a motor as large as the 3.2 into a Civic would require so much custom work you'd soon see why B16 and B18 swaps are so popular. You'd need the entire front clip,
engine
tranny
ecu
shift linkage
mounts
axles (shortened)
hubs
brakes

You'd also have to upgrade to larger wheels with the 5-lug bolt pattern.

That list is just an idea of what you'd have to have to even contimplate such an undertaking.

All i was saying is that your engine bay will have to be SEVERELY modified in order to take a motor that size, and IF the swap actually fits, which i tend to doubt, your car will handle like ass, because a 3.2 was never meant for a car that size. Also, you will need severe suspension modification to get it to sit right after weighing down the front end so much. Even if you get the motor for free, This will still turn into quite an expensive ordeal, and it would probably be a good idea to go with something that is tried and true.

Try it though id like to see it
