Question Where Can I Find My Engine Specs?

I'm wondering where I can access the manufacturer specifications for my engine - or any engine, for that matter. For example, fuel pressure at different times, vacuum, etc? Is there an online source, or do I need a manual/guide?

I recommend a manual if you can find one. Haynes makes a manual for the Grand Prix. I am not certain if Chiltons makes one or not. Amazon is a good place to start.

Re: Where Can I Find My Engine Specs?

The following link seems to be the only haynes manual available for my '02 Grand Prix. Some of the reviews mentioned that the manual is too vague because it is to broad. What would you say?

http://www.amazon.com/General-Chevro.../dp/1563927268

Specifically, would it contain all the manufacturer specifications like compression values, exhaust values, vacuum readings, and fuel pressure readings?

That is the same manual that I have. It is not as detailed as Chiltons but it is the only one available. I believe that you will find the basic information that you are looking for. If you really want a comprehensive service manual you need to find a factory service manual. They are year specific and are expensive. Most backyard mechanics don't have a need for one as the Haynes is specific enough.

If you need anything specific let me know. I can get it for you, nothing I know of in book form or all in one place. as for fuel pressue I believe 55-60 psi, it shouldn't matter at different rpms.

Re: Where Can I Find My Engine Specs?

Thanks, guys.

@rickisrad - My fuel pressure initially bumps up to 50psi on start-up, and rests at 45psi during idle. Sound right?
