2000 ford v10 excursion idle problem
The truck has been immediately stalling upon starting up at random. I have to hold the gas pedal to maintain idle and usually it will take over and do the job fine. Just came back from a trip and had to hold the idle myself for a day and a half in traffic and then all of a sudden it took back over and is still working. Not fun when you are 5 hours from home. I believe it to be the IAC but would like others advice before doing the work and then getting mad because it is not fixed. What do you experienced folk think?

I have a 2000 V10 and had the same issue, took it to the dealer as new plugs and a fuel filter didn't fix the issue. It was the Idle control valve. Wish I had searched the forum more before spending $300 at the dealer. Its been fine, 30ish days, since.

I called today and the cheapest ford part is 98.00 dollars! Advance auto is $59. I think I will go with the ford part and hope it last another 100,000 miles. Someone else advised this also. Thanks for your help!
