ford edge transfer case
i have a 2008 ford Edge bought it 3 years ago high miles only had for about 4000 miles and the transfer case went out got a used one put in the one that came out didnt seem to be the orginal becasue it had junk yard makings like colored sharpe writing well the one that was put in had about 60000 miles on it now its going out agian leaking oil badley my question is there usually issues with the ford edge tansfer cases

Yes! Same PTU as used in the Escape and the Flex. Ford put a small-capacity, no cooling radiator unit and said "no fluid change required". Then they packaged it in between the exhaust, near the engine and the transmission, with no airflow.
The result is that with all the heat, the lubricant gets fried and the gears munch themselves. Our 2018 Flex, even after one fluid change, just had to be replaced at only 46,000 miles. We will be selling or trading before another 25,000 miles are up. As I'm sure you have seen this part is hella expensive to buy new...so...if it were mine and out of warranty I'd find another unit that works and sell/trade the vehicle right away -- it's a very hot used car market right now you should get top dollar.
