Possible to change the spoiler from the early 90's to the late 90's?

Cost? Opinions? Curious how this could change the cars performance or look. thanks.

Its possible to change the spoiler, but the active areo isn't a feature of the later models. Which one did you have in mind?

I just want to put a 97-98 style spoiler on a 91-92 VR4.

why would you want a late 3000 spoiler? it looks like a damn eclipse with that. your driving a 3000gt not an eclipse

You picked the hardest one to do. You will be making new holes in the quarter panels and trunk lid while filling in the existing ones on the trunk.

You won't get any performance enhancements from doing this, but IMO it would sharpen the look of the car. I liked having the active aero though which you'll lose.

Maybe, also makes it look like a Supra if you really want to compare it to different cars. I just think it looks sharper and more sporty.

I think the "smaller" ones look better. Just my opinion.....

Re: Possible to change the spoiler from the early 90's to the late 90's?

I was driving around with a Stealth spoiler on my car for 5 months so both the 3k spoilers look good to me . The 97+ really flows with the lines of the car. But you also got to consider, that the first gens don't really have the same lines as the second gens. The first are more linear, while the second are more flowing. I've seen someone do what you wanna do, and it really looked out of place. For the first gens, I really do like the look of the smaller, flatter spoiler... Plus you'd lose the active aero if you changed spoilers, and you'd have a lot of work making new holes, filling in old ones, and then painting your trunk...
