Are Moog Variable Rate Coil Springs a good choice?

It's what I put in my 1996 Cartier when the Air Ride failed. I needed to be back up and driving within 24 hours so Coil Springs was the answer. Never could tell the difference in ride quality. If you aren't in a hurry and you know that an Air Spring has failed, replace it. Remanufactured PAIR of Air Springs on EBay for about $80.

The only drawback when installing Coil Springs in a 1998 or newer is that you can't disable the 'Check Air Suspension' light.

Re: 03 Town Car suspension conversion springs

Thanks for the info. I replaced the airbags with the Moog springs and am quite pleased with the cost, ride and handling. As far as the "air suspension" message, someone posted that the ECM can be reprogrammed. I just have to find the cost and who can do it. Thanks again!

You need a Ford Programming Scanner to achieve it and most dealers will not perform the action for you. The last year of the Panther Platform, 2011, included a standard Coil Spring option but the Dashboard remained the same - meaning the factory disabled the CAS on those models, so it can be done.
