S-Type Radio Problems..

I have a 2001 S-Type 4.0 with the Premium Audio, I am getting horrible radio reception through the antenna embedded into the rear window. The sound system is fine, CD's aren't a problem. When I put the radio on, it is fine when the car is stopped, but when I start moving I get static, volume changes, and lots of fuzz. Anyone else have this problem and know if there is ANYTHING I can do about it?

I have a 2001 S-Type 3.0 and having the same problem, it is really frustrating. Did you figure what the problem is? And also, is there a way to tell whether or not you have premium audio. Any information on this would be great, Thanks!

replace the rear windscreen /antenna or you might have a problem with the amp in the boot (left ontop of the cd changer)

I'm new to the forum. I have a 2001 S-Type 3.0 with this same problem started a few weeks ago. You're right really frustrating. Premium has all the extra speakers.CD and tape sounds great but when the car moves radio just gets fuzzy and static. When it stands still radio sounds great. I saw the response on changing the amp in the trunk. Did anyone try that out there ? Changing the windscreen/antenna sounds real extreme ?? Thanks

Re: S-Type Radio Problems..

I have a 2001 S-type, V6 and I have the same radio static noise. I can hear the engine noise thru the speakers when I accelerate. When I let off the gas, the noise tends to go away. Any thoughts?

Clean & use a white lithium grease on antenna and battery connections.

Daniel, thanks for the tip. But where do I locate the antenna and battery connections?

Re: S-Type Radio Problems..

The antenna is in the rear window, the radio amp, and battery is in the lower trunk.
