Eh... Six Cylinder Misfire?

Hey, I've been having some problems with my gt, 91 SL Auto DOHC, It's been misfiring, stalling at slow speeds and stops, and sending crazy signals to the tack, I pulled the codes (twice, cleared them to see what came back) and got: Ignition Coil, power transistor unit, 1-4, Igintion Coil, power transistor unit, 3-5, and Igintion Coil, power transistor unit, 3-6.

Should I throw a new PTS, coils, or Cam sensor at it first?

(Or what else could this mean?)

Thanks for any and all help!

Oh, and for a while, this was all happning when I got at, or around a quarter of a tank. O.o

Check the caps in the ECU first

Hmm.. I was wondering that too... Eh, it's never just a eazy fix with this thing... maybe I can pull that out tomorrow and see if it's leaking..

Oh, and for a while the symptoms were all happening at or around a quarter of a tank... O,o

If you know anyone with a 3000gt/stealth (any year, dohc) I would try swapping out the PTU to test. It could be the ecu, but I have never seen it throw codes for all the coils before. Typically it is 1/4, or 3/6. But the ECU can definately throw a curve ball every now and then.

Felt so special you had to sign your name twice?

On my TSI when the ECU went bad it threw about 8 random codes.

Re: Eh... Six Cylinder Misfire?

Well, I plugged in a PTU while my car was having one of it's fits, and it still happened with the good one, so it's not the PTU.. WAIT, does it need a little bit of time so the ecu can get used to the new one?... seems almost like heat makes it worse. I played with all the harnesses, and nothing changed.

Any other ideas other then the ecu?

What about a crank or cam sensor going out?

Got some newish coils to change out and try, to see it anything changes...

Unplug the battery for a few min and the ECU will reset. That way you can rule that out.
