`88 305
I have an `88 K1500 with a 305. After a recent freeze a small but steady stream of oil has begun to leak from the area of the oil filter. After replacing the filter and visual inspection, the problem seems to be at the point where the oil filter mount bolts to the block. I am guessing (HOPING!) that this may be a gasket problem...Is it possible to remove the oil filter mount from the block for further inspection without too much difficulty? Do I have to raise/jerk the engine or can it be done from below? ALL REPLIES/TIPS/HINTS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! THANX!!!

Re: `88 305
The gasket is more than likely bad at the mounting area.

Re: `88 305
Thanx to all that replied to my question about my `88 305. I replaced the O ring and gasket to the oil filter mount and that was all she needed. T`was an easy fix, and yes, the O ring was cracked when I removed it. Thanx to all for all your help!
