SEAT Cordoba WRC Evo 2 - Big Model 1/24

Buildup of the Big Model (Racing 43) SEAT Cordoba Evo 2. The white metal body was solid and heavy but tail lights were supplied as decals only. Although my kit was the San Remo version it only came with gravel wheels. The inside lacked door panels and the seats looked oversized. The underside was poor, no suspension, little detail.

I opted to fit a Tamiya Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5 chassis to make up for the kit's weaknesses. Fit was pretty good (even the exhaust lined up) and worth the effort. Lots of upgrades and extra parts along the way.

- 3d printed tail lights
- door panels from a 1/18 Audi diecast
- rebuilt roll cage from toothpicks
- seat belts from Eduard
- extra details for everything else

Wow, not sure I have ever seen one of these built before. So cool. The build is top notch as well!

Great!! I`m building same kit, but in my case I selected Impreza 98 WRC as a base, that also fits good. Good to see the project could achieve a very good result!!

Hi Robert, looks great. With the wheels, are you saying the ones you have on it are incorrect. When I built this kit a few years ago I thought the same until I found two photos of the car with these wheels on it. One mid-stage and the other in the overnight halt.

Borjacho,

The Impreza should be more accurate. SEAT used the Subaru/Prodrive customer AWD system for the Cordoba.

malscar,

I only have photos of tarmac wheels for this event and assumed the gravels were only for the Finland version. In either case I found the wheel arches to be way too big.
