'74 ignition problem
The problem started when I was working on my horn. The horn now works, but the car will not start. The engine will not turn over and none of the accesssories are getting power. I have taken the steering column apart as far as I can and am still unable to get to the ignition switch. The Chilton and Hayne's manuals offer little help in this area. I would greatly appreciate any help on getting the car to start or even getting to the ignition switch.

Re: '74 ignition problem
The ignition switch is located on the top of the steering column under the dash. There is a rod that runs down to the switch from the key lock on the column. If this is not in place on the key lock then when you turn the key it will not move the rod. If you did not disturb anything under the dash in the area where the switch is located then check that the rod is moving when you turn the key. Good luck.
