02 Astra manual trans. problems to get 1st gear

Good morning to all!
I do have a 2002 Astra with Manual Tansmission, has a 2.2 lts engine, I have problems to get 1st gear from neutral, it is easy to get 1st gear if I go to 2nd gear first and then goes in to 1st. I think is a misadjusting of the shifting mechanism butdo not know how to adjust it, does any of you have the information and/or recommendation on what to do?
Your help/comments/recommendations will be appreciated.
Have a nice weekend.
