s2000 indecisive

I am new to the website and hope this is in the right place. I am looking for some advice from s200 owners. I am graduating college in December and am looking into buying an s2000. At this point in my life I am not in need of a vehicle that has a lot of room besides enough for golf clubs, gym bags, and such. Anyway I was debating on whether it was smart to buy the car. I need to know if it is practical for an everyday driver. I am worried about my location as well. I live in a fairly rural area of Indiana and winters can be bad sometimes, therefore I am stuck weighing the plusses and minuses. If I can get some feedback about practicality, problems in weather, etc, I would really appreciate it. My other option in the ridgeline. Thanks.

What else are you looking for in the car? Golf clubs really wont fit in the trunk. They would have to be in the front seat. I see a few driving around here in Utah in the winter, but snow tires are a MUST if you plan on doing that.

Re: s2000 indecisive

The s2k is a loud, bumpy, viscerally pure auto. It has a stiff suspension and no sound deadening so you can hear and feel every rattle and bump in the road. With the top down you can barely hear the radio and with the top up it's only a little better. Some people feel clausterphobic in the tiny cockpit. There isn't much room for anything but a driver and a passenger inside the car. Revving to 9k (or 8k in the ap2's) is loud and attracts a lot of attention. If none of those features appeal to you then you won't be happy with it.

There's a lot of things that everyone would appreciate about the s2k...acceleration in the upper RPM's is great....handling is almost unsurpassed...it's a great looking car...but if you can't get past the things I mentioned in the first paragraph this isn't the car for you.

...and I can get 2 sets of clubs in the trunk of my s2k, it's a tight squeeze but it fits. I know of several people who garage their s2k's for the winter season but I don't know how hard it is in snow because I live in SoCal. On all of the s2k boards I visit the members who live in snowy areas all have a second set of snow tires.

I guess I never have really tried to put clubs in the back of mine. In fact, I have never really used my trunk...

Thanks a lot for your input...golf clubs were a concern for me, so if you think I can get a set in their, then I will be pretty excited. The snow tire idea sounds necesary, so I will consider that. Thanks again
