Perhaps removal of the BULB on the Instrument Cluster for '98 and on?

Unfortunately it is part of a LCD display on the Instrument cluster. I guess if it bothers you, there is always black tape.

Re: How Do I Disable Air Suspension Light

I seem to recall seeing a post somewhere that the ECU/CCU can be reprogrammed.

Re: How Do I Disable Air Suspension Light

Yesterday my compressor bit the dust...The bags were fine, however after careful reasoning I decided that I would just change the springs. I called the local part store, and got the coil springs for $85.00 for both. I let the guy at the counter know how I dreaded laying on the cold ground to repair. He called a buddy who's in my drive way as I type this, replacing the springs for $50.00!!! This sure beats the dealer quote of $1200.00!!!

I will be doing the easy part...disengaging the Check air suspension light...Thanks for the help on how to do this.

You will be quite pleased with your decision. Knowing that the ARS can never fail again is comforting to say the least. You can even sell the Air Springs on EBay for a few dollars; I sold my Compressor and Air Springs for $62 so the cost to 'repair' my ARS was about $21. I did make it a point to list that I did not know which component had failed although I had suspected an Air Spring.

I might have paid someone $50 to do it also.

I have to say, I have owned this car since day one. Bought it brand new while on vacation after being hit by a truck in Ocean city NJ. in 1996. The trucking company allowed $20,000 budget, and I think I paid like $6.000 money difference on a left over Mulberry (pinkish-reddish) 1995 Town Car Signature with 10 miles on it. I still remember the sales man asking me, "Why does a 25 year old want an old persons car." I told him they are not only for the seniors, and they last forever, and it has. This was the first real problem I have ever had with my 80,000 mile Town Car. I was on the fence about changing the spring out, however if I sell it for a new 2010 this will insure the next owner can get 80,000 mile of trouble free driving from the springs.

Re: How Do I Disable Air Suspension Light

For the sake of any new owner or an idiot mechanic attempting to sell parts that would not be needed, I placed a sticker on the ARS Switch in the Trunk, in the under Hood Fuse Box and on the Heater Unit indicating the ARS has been removed and replaced with reliable Coil Springs.

...Ok now I have the glove box down, I can not figure out which plug to disconnect. Is it the black and gray on the right side? I also can't seem to pull them apart, and there is another plug blocking them?

For 1995-1997: Behind the Glove Box, mounted to the Heater Unit is a connection with two plugs, one GRAY, one BLACK, each about 2" just to left. On the BLACK connector, midway, is a GREEN wire (this is pin #11). Cut this wire to disable "Check Air Suspension" light. You don't want to unplug the BLACK Connection as that will disable the Assisted Steering if your vehicle is so equipped. Reattach Glove Box.
