rear axle spring perch
I just got a 92 acclaims with 79k on it. for minnesota almost no rust. found one of the rear axle coil spring perches is almost rusted away. one of the spring could pop out soon. has any one else had this problem, is it common to the make?
suggestions on locating a salvage or new axle? |

Re: rear axle spring perch
i am finding the abs disk rear brake options are quite rare, the drum rear are pretty plentiful. does anyone know if there is a cross ref part to another model like the spirit or lebaron?

Re: rear axle spring perch
update. got a new (salvaged) beam axle a bit spendy but only way to go. it would appear that lebaron's are more plentiful in the salvage world. the axle and the brake items interchange (so I was told)

Re: rear axle spring perch
axle installed works beautifully and was about a 100 less than anticipated. my cars case it would appear it was parked in somthing that held quite a bit of moisure and the axle area took the brunt of the punishment. note to those who may try this on their own. the brake lines were very brittle and rusted plan on replacing them as well as the mid parking brake cable.
