Did I see a real 959 or a fake?

When I was Driving around yesterday I was struck by the Beautifull
sight of a brillient red Porsche 959. I'd like to say for shure it was real but I can't. You see there are some real 959s in the US ,some of wich
are here illegaly, but there are also a whole lot more fake 959s ,many looking almost exactly like the real ones.

Does any one here have any information that might leed to an answer?

Impossible to give you a meaningful answer without having actually seen it

where are you located? There is a guy in So-Cal with the only legal 959S in the US...it is Guards red. He is in the process of converting approx. 6 more silver cars.

Yeah I didn't know abouut the one in South Carolina,
but I've been doing some studiing on the 959 and
I found out that several others were legalized in the
U.S. including 2 that Bill Gates has(he got them legalized
in 2001). There's also one in a San Francisco Museum
. I also read an Road Test from road and track on the
959 and I wonder if that test was done in the U.S..

They should have legalized it along time ago.

I agree with you completely, but better late than never, that's
what I always say.

BTW I just read an article about the U.S. legal 959 in AutoWeek.

Here's the link to it.

Seem it only got better over the years.

What an arduous process to go through... i guess a 959 can do that to people

Because Porsche did not want to give the US Government 4 of them for crash testing. That, and I dont know if they comply with US emissions regs. But you probably saw a 993, or somthing. Jerry Seinfeld has one in his 20 car garage in Mannhatan Island. Its the Crown Jewel of his Porsche collection, besides mabey his Carerra GT. What sucks is that he can never touch pavement in it.
