My Second Car!
OK, this is my first post here, so be nice!
Im starting to look for my second car, and this time I want to find something close to a dream car. I currently have a 2003 Honda Accord LX (4CYL). Its a fantastic car, but its not really what I want. Here is what I would want from my next car: 1) AWD and or RWD 2) 4CYL Turbo / 6 CYL / 8CYL (Im not opposed to an 8, but not my first choice, which is 6) 3) Newer than at least 2005 4) No coupes / Large SUV (Small is fine) / Small Economy Cars 5) No german cars (VW is OK) / No Suzuiki / No Mitsubishi 6) Roughly under $20,000 7) No hubcaps / plastic covers (Alloys only) 8) Ability to disable Traction and Stability Control (Would like it, but not a deal breaker!) 9) At least 200HP (Shouldn't be a problem) I am currently looking at my father's 2011 Acura RDX, but I don't know if he is ready to let it go soon. For example, it is: 4CYL Turbo / 230HP & 260TQ / Small SUV / SH-AWD / Very Well Equipped Another car im interested in is (and thats more in my price range): 2005/6/7 Acura RL: 6CYL / 300HP (?) / Large Sedan / SH-AWD / Very Well Equipped Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thank You! |

Re: My Second Car!
I'll be facetious. I've had 2 cars that meet your requirements - both were Jaguars. The first was a X-Type with the 3.0 Liter 229HP V6 and AWD. The second was a S-Type Sedan with the 4.2 Liter 300 HP V8 with RWD. You might even find a Jag XF (replaced the S Type) in your price range. Anyway - give you something to consider besides vanilla Japanese Cars.

Re: My Second Car!
Hmmm, never though of a Jaguar. How was the reliability and cost to maintain on those two? I really like the look of the latter versions of both, but I doubt my parents would let me get a Jaguar as a second car, but you never know right? Haha.

Re: My Second Car!
Honda: I actually have owned 3 Jags. The first one being a 2003 2.5 Liter X Type, then, the two I mentioned. I didn't have any major reliability problems with any of them. I mostly did my own service on them, and, they weren't that expensive. My concern with them now is parts availability now that Tata owns Jag. After I got Jag out of my system, I've switched to Mercedes Benz. Own a GLK 350 4Matic now and love it.
